Independent films have been reaching out to children for several years, and the Prescott Film Festival is excited to share the best of these offerings with Prescott. The Prescott Public Library and the Friends of the Prescott Public Library have come together with the Prescott Film Festival to present a free day filled with independent children’s films. Join us on Saturday, November 5 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm with a one hour break for lunch at 12 pm. Films will be shown in the Founder’s Suite at the library (215 E. Goodwin St.) in downtown Prescott.

The Prescott Film Festival will be November 2–6 this year, and festival volunteers thought it would be great to reach out to children this year. "Independent Films for Independent Kids" (IFFIK) is the first annual event of its kind. Volunteer Megan Hollingsworth will give out film-related prizes between each film, and tell the children and parents a bit about each film before it starts.

Films range from one minute 30 seconds to 60 minutes. Kids 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

More information can be found on the Prescott Film Festival website, www.prescottfilmfestival.com. Prescott Public Library serves more than 500,000 residents and visitors each year. All programs are free and open to the public. Check the library's online calendar at www.prescottlibrary.info, or call 928-777-1500 for more information.
