The second annual In the Spirit: Contemporary Northwest Native Arts Exhibit showcases the work of 32 contemporary Native American artists, many living and working in the Pacific Northwest.

Among the artists included in this year's exhibition are Andrea Wilbur-Sigo, Pat Courtney Gold, Chloe French, Nathaniel P. Wilkerson, Jennifer Johns, Susan Pavel, and Lillian Pitt. Works from these prominent local artists range from large-scale carvings and beautiful serigraphs, to intricate fiber arts and unique sculptures. In the Spirit is a celebration of how today's Native American art blends time-honored traditions with modern sensibilities.

Join us on the museum's plaza, July 21 and 22 for a Native American arts market, with products from a variety of artisans, and a festival that includes delicious Native American foods and live performances from Native dancers, musicians, and storytellers. In addition, festival visitors can watch demonstrations of traditional artwork from the best Northwest carvers, printmakers, weavers, and bead artisans.

Whether you're looking for a day of family fun or you're a serious art collector looking to add to your personal collection, this is an event you won't want to miss!
