Art at the Main's eclectic artists are "In the Spirit" and creating original art and gift items for their holiday group show. During the December 7 Gallery Stroll (6:00pm-9:00 pm), artists will overflow the gallery into the atrium of the Main Salt Lake City Library with tables full of original art, prints, and gift items.
The 17 artists that make up the Art at the Main co-op work in two dimensions and three, in oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, and colored pencils, as well as clay and glass. Styles vary from highly realistic to abstract. There is something to satisfy the tastes of most art collectors.
"When you shop locally owned businesses like ours for holiday purchases, the money you spend stays in, and supports, the local economy," notes gallery director Joy Nunn.
Art at the Main will host a reception for the artists during the Gallery Stroll. The Rowland Hall School choir will perform, and light refreshments will be served.
Art at the Main is a not-for-profit artists' co-operative gallery whose primary purpose is to promote and provide public access to art created by Utah artists. An important goal of Art at the Main is to support public arts education by offering periodic demonstrations, small classes and talks on various artistic techniques.
