Gary Knight, co-founder of the VII photo agency, has just returned from Darfur and speaks about a country in meltdown and the incredible human suffering in the region.

Since 2003 a war has been raging in Darfur under the nose of the world's political elite. Well-meaning politicians and celebrities have beaten a path to the refugee camps, been photographed with raped women and orphaned children, wrung their hands and called for something - anything - to be done. Little of any consequence has been.

Gary Knight has been working as a photographer since 1987. He is currently working on a series of essays that address poverty and other issues of inequality, injustice and prejudice.

His work has been published by many auspicious publications all over the world he has contributed work to several books, exhibited in many museums. He is also the recipient of numerous awards.
