Producer Marianne Hagan in conjunction with OHYMEE Productions and The Lost Studio are proud to present IN HEAT, written by Malcolm Danare (CSI Miami) and directed by veteran actor/director, James Eckhouse (Beverly Hills 90210). This all-star original comedy is set to open June 14th at The Lost Studio in Los Angeles.
About The Show
One town. (That would be Los Angeles.) One night. One heat wave. IN HEAT, a new world premiere comedy in four one-acts, in which King Lear, Freddie Mercury, 12-step programs, and West Side Story abound as these eight diverse, charming, and somewhat insane characters navigate their respective evenings. An intimate snapshot of four couples captured over the course of one hot summer evening in Los Angeles. By the end of the fourth act, the lives of all the characters intersect on Sunset Blvd. in an impromptu memorial service to honor a very special friend – culminating in a slightly absurdist, hilarious grand finale.
Featuring an all-star cast and crew, IN HEAT brings incredible depth to the Los Angeles stage, in a poignant blend of melancholy and quirky comedy in the vein of Joseph Bologna and Renee Taylor’s Lovers and Other Strangers.
About the Talent
Produced by Marianne Hagan in conjunction with OHYMEE Productions and The Lost Studio, IN HEAT was written by Malcolm Danare, (CSI Miami as Ned Ostroff). With several feature scripts under his belt, Danare has made an indelible impact with audiences co-starring in feature films such as Flashdance and Christine.
The stellar cast includes Rebecca Klingler (Titanic, LA Confidential), Robin Thomas (CSI, Shark, Without a Trace, The Banger Sisters), Kyle T. Heffner (Flashdance, When Harry Met Sally), Shana Sosin (Cold Case), John Kapelos (Monk, One Tree Hill, Desperate Housewives), Jon Lindstrom (award-winning star of Port Charles and General Hospital) and Mary Mara (Prom Night, Bones, Law & Order).
Director James Eckhouse, Julliard graduate, whose credits including Criminal Minds, Medium, and Nip/Tuck. Eckhouse also starred in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, The Goat at the Mark Taper Forum and Mother Courage at the La Jolla Playhouse. Jim is probably best known playing “Jim Walsh” on “90210”.
Costumes for the production have been designed by Oscar-nominated costume designer Marilyn Vance.

IN HEAT runs June 14th through July 20th, 2008. Previews June 6th, 7th, 8th and 13th at 8 PM, with opening night June 14th and a special opening weekend party on June 15th. Performances are at The Lost Studio at 130 S. La Brea in Los Angeles, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, Sundays at 7 PM. Tickets are $20. Running time is 80 minutes with concessions available. Allow time for street parking.
