In celebration of the installation of Jim Dine's 12 foot bronze Pinocchio (Emotional) outdoor sculpture, the final gallery of the Cincinnati Wing explores fairytale in the work of contemporary Cincinnati artists. Dine's print portfolio illustrating Carlo Collodi's original 1883 story is featured along with Dine's large-scale drawing and bas-relief sculpture. The theme continues with another recent acquisition, Casey Rioden Millard's sculpture Shark Girl with Art Museum. Mark Fox's portfolio of marionette prints uses puppet figures to re-interpret narrative while Jay Bolotin's large-scale print transforms a local legend into an epic tale. Completing the selection is Will Hutchinson's 1,000 Cranes, a work based on the true story of Sadako Saski, a loan from the Collection Sara and Michelle Vance Waddell.
