Guirgis gives life to a city where relationships are pushed and pulled to their limits; old men drink & die, daughters pull guns on their mothers and a crackhead gives his very first blow-job. Long Beach is a perfect setting for Guirgis' modern day drama. Like New York City, Long Beach is filled with ethnic and lower income communities who are and have been falling prey to gentrification.
