Lighthouse is delighted to present Improving Reality, a conference which explores how artists and designers are working with digital technologies to radically re-engineer the world we exist within.

Through an inspiring day of talks, delegates will learn how the current generation of makers is not only attempting to augment reality, but rather to go one step further, and *improve* reality, through innovative, surprising and playful projects.

Bringing together a range of thinkers from the technology, film, education and art worlds, the day will comprise three sessions:

Reality Hacking - How artists are shifting perceptions of place and time and overlaying increasingly complex and imaginative sedimentary layers onto our lived environment, through the use of augmented reality.

Beyond Cinema - How filmmakers and artists are shifting our ideas about what cinema can be, adding cinematic drama to reality, and reinventing the rules by reinterpreting creative processes and traditional business models.

Gaming for Good - How artists and designers are using games and play to radically change social and cultural reality.
