Ilusha Tsinadze's debut release, 'Mother Tongue' (Deda Ena), is a collection of traditional songs from the Republic of Georgia played by an American ensemble of innovative jazz and folk musicians. Ilusha Tsinadze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, and moved to the New York City area in 1991 when he was 8 years old. Having spent his youth listening to American pop music, and later jazz, he traveled back to his homeland for the first time in his early 20s and fell in love with the traditional music that had been all but hidden from him for so many years. He immediately immersed himself in this music, which he has since adapted for a group of some of his favorite musicians in the States
