Illinois Virtual High School Fall 2008 Faculty Meeting October 18, 2008

UPDATE: When you arrive at U-High, please park in the NORTH lot across Gregory Street. You should enter U-High using the NORTHEAST doors closest to Main Street. For those of you who have been there before, these are the doors right next to the library. Looking forward to seeing you! - IVHS Staff

We are excited to come together again for our IVHS Fall 2008 Faculty Meeting! We heard from many that the summer was so exciting and productive (as well as a great chance to see colleagues and friends f2f) that they couldn't wait for October! It's hard to believe time has flown so fast and here we are again!

The meeting will be held on October 18, 2008 at University High School, 500 W. Gregory, Normal, IL 61790. Directions to the school can be found at: http://www.uhigh.ilstu.edu/school/directions.htm. We will begin with a continental breakfast and check-in occuring between 8:00 and 8:45. Lunch and an afternoon snack will also be provided.

For those of you who will need lodging for the night of October 17, 2008, rooms have been reserved at the Bloomington Super 8, 818 IAA Drive, Bloomington, IL 61701. The hotel website (including a link for directions) can be found at: http://www.super8.com/Super8/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=03285. As always, room and tax will be direct billed to IVHS/IMSA but any incidentals will be your responsibility. PLEASE HANDLE PAYMENT for incidentals directly with the hotel BEFORE LEAVING. Please do NOT call the hotel for rooms. Instead, please request the appropriate "ticket" above for the meeting. Those requesting the "Attending WITH lodging" ticket will have their names submitted to the hotel by IVHS/IMSA for arrival Friday, October 17 and departure Saturday, October 18. PLEASE RSVP BY CHOOSING YOUR TICKET ABOVE BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10, 3008 AT NOON!

At this meeting, there will be opportunities to meet with your mentor and colleagues in your discipline area, as well as some other short informative sessions. Jonathan will give an update on content development and accreditation. We will also share news about possible future scenarios for IVHS and ask you to brainstorm as we envision what the next chapter of the life of IVHS might look like.
