Can We Talk? Why Peer Level Dialogue May Be the Oldest New Medium
Moderated by Joe Plotkin

Judaism has a history of using "dialogue" as a mode of thinking through difficult ideas. Popular culture has finally caught up and dialogue and salons have come into vogue. Skirball has been at the vanguard of this trend. Additionally, around the globe, more peer-level discussion groups and town hall-style meetings have emerged as potent vehicles of change. What role can wider use of dialog play in the evolution of democracy? What can we learn from corporations and other organizations that have tried to embrace more peer level discussions? What is the role of the Internet (blogs, listservs, etc.) towards this global conversation? What is unique to small group in-person discussion and can it scale to larger groups? What are the limitations of discussion? Come join for an exploration of these questions and others that you will pose.
