A Free Scotch and Irish Whisky Tasting with James McCartney, Master of Scotch

We thought that since St. Patrick’s Day will be the week after next that we’d turn our whiskey tasting into a St. Patty’s Day practice round. Specifically we’ll show you all (for free) just how rich and complex Irish Whiskey can be and how it compares to Scotch. So, here’s the skinny about what’s going down:

The Hooch
The Old Bushmills Distillery Co Black Bush
The Old Bushmills Distillery Co 10 year old Malt
The Old Bushmills Distillery Co 1608 Commemorative Blend
The Singleton Scotch, 12 year old

The Guest
On hand will be Master of Whisky, James McCartney. This silver tongued devil has studied in-depth all things whisky, including history, production process, wood/barrel management, maturation and the art of blending, etc, etc. Currently James lives in Dallas and is employed by Diageo and spends his days (and nights) providing educational seminars and tastings for some of the world’s most prestigious distilleries.

The Deal
No reservations are needed, there’s no charge, just show up and enjoy. The tasting will be held next to Clever at Cork & Bottle and inside Clever we’ll have Chef Dan Esses plating up small plates designed specifically to pair with the Whisk(e)ys. The tasting will last from 6:00 to 8:00 and Clever will be going along with Chef Dan all night long.

Enjoy!
