Hymn to the Virgin

The Adelaide University Choral Society's Chamber Choir returns to the Clare Valley on 24 September for a Sunday afternoon concert of divine music, all inspired by the Virgin Mary.

The program will feature melodies by Tchaikovsky, Gorecki, Rachmaninov, Grieg, Palestrina, Hassler and others.

The Adelaide University Choral Society (AUCS), established in 1960, currently has about 60 members from across the University and the broader community. The 20 voices of the AUCS Chamber Choir have been selected for performing a capella chamber works in more intimate settings.

"Just the right blend of enthusiasm and discipline ... one of the finest amateur choral performances I have heard for years"
