*The Vulnerable Population Registry allows people who are disabled, frail or have health issues to register in advance with their city so that emergency workers may plan a better response to vulnerable residents in a recovery effort following a hurricane or other emergency. Some of My Advice: Please have your supplies to avoid not having what you need when the electricity and water does not work... Have enough money, food, water, gas, and essential needs for all household occupants. Have your #'s at hand. Keep batteries fresh and available for your radios and lanterns. Do not use flame candles. Keep your valuable papers in plastic bags; give copies to out of state friends & relitives. Put your photos also in plastic bags. Ask your services like cable and satalite to not charge you if you have no service from them. If there is a state of emergency most credit cards companies will put off your payments without penalty. Please evacuate when advised and stay inside safe until advised otherwise. Even in the eye of the storm when it seems to be more safe. Be careful using your bbq grills, and saws. If you think you cannot do something let someoone else do it who can. Hire professionals for putting up/removing your shutters and to cut your trees that have fallen in whole or part. Do not park your car under trees. Accidents will happen. Deaths can happen many ways during these storms. Even going out to check on your house people have died from falling limbs from trees, been killed by trees falling on their cars passing, being driven off the highway by high winds. Avoid getting caught where Emergency Management Rescue will not send out their own in 35 mph winds. Have medical prescriptions ready ahead of time, make those arrangements with your medical provider early. Simply avoidable injuries and deaths by keeping aware. Never walk into water. Many times hidden wires cause injuries and death. Keep your children out of the water as it is often sewage. And seek medical and mental health help if you are having trouble with health and stress issues. Go to http://www.mhabroward.org for help and links if you find the need. Go to Connections for children or adults. Please do not go to ER because your air conditioner is not working. Been known to happen!
Stay well, safe and happy & healthy. Peace. LI
