?Hunters of the North? describes hunting and fishing in Greenland, the Faroes Islands and Iceland ? from an artistic, ethnographic and technological perspective.

The exhibition portrays, amongst other things, the religious ceremony accompanying a hunt, and the hunter?s hard struggle of ensuring food for his family in a hostile environment. In addition, the exhibition contains a collection of jewellery, old hunting- and fishing tools, hunting boats, kayaks, and modern sealskin design.

The exhibition also includes examples of artwork that with various thematic approaches to the hunting culture. From Greenland, there is the work of Peter Rosing (1892-1965), Aka H?egh (1947 -) and Miki Jacobsen (1965-), and from the Faroe Islands you will find work by, among others, Sámal Joensen-Mikines (1906-79).
