Following last year’s critical and popular success, ‘Hunger’ comes back to Brighton for one night only, accompanied by its producer Laura Hastings Smith.

Directed by Turner Prize-winning artist Steve McQueen, ‘Hunger’ is a compelling and visceral portrayal of life within the Maze prison around the time of the 1981 IRA hunger strike. Starring Michael Fassbender and Liam Cunningham, the film was co-written with Enda Walsh.

After its premier at Cannes where it was awarded the Camera d’Or, ‘Hunger’ went on to receive countless prizes and accolades at film festivals around the world.

Watch ‘Hunger’ at Lighthouse and stay for a Q&A with Laura Hastings-Smith who will be discussing the film’s journey, from conception to completion and beyond, with local filmmaker and broadcaster Toby Amies.

This event has been enabled by Screen South and the RIFE lottery funding programme.
