The Dalton-Whitfield Regional Solid Waste Management Authority holds a Household Hazardous Waste collection on the third Saturday of every month from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This collection is a free service to the citizens of the City of Dalton and Whitfield County. The HHW facility is open to residents of Whitfield County the third Saturday of every month and accepts leftover household products such as pesticides, old gasoline, batteries, paints and pool chemicals, to name a few. Employees, that are HAZWOPER certified, inventory collected materials that are then recycled or, if no market exists, disposed of utilizing a licensed hazardous waste incinerator.

We cannot accept:
Explosives
Ammunition
Business Waste
Compressed Gases
Radioactive Material
Dioxin Pre-Cursors
Silvex
Penta Chlorophenol
2,4,5 Cholorophenol

RESTRICTIONS:

1. A MAXIMUM of 220 lbs. is accepted from each resident.
2. The waste must be in the original container and have the original label on it.
3. The container must not leak.
4. The contents must match the container label.
5. For residents of Whitfield County only
