The Joe Crowley Student Union, USAC and Salsa Reno have teamed up to bring you salsa dancing on the first Friday of each month. This event is open to the public and it’s free.

Join us for the first salsa dance Friday, September 5th at the Student Union in the Grand Ballroom, located on the 4th Floor. The evening will start with a salsa lesson by BB of Salsa Reno, Reno’s best salsa instructor, from 7:30 to 9 pm. Then the dance floor will be opened up from 9 pm to Midnight. The DJ will be playing a mix of music that will include: Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, Bachata, Timba, Cha cha cha and more.

By participating in a dance hosted by BB of Salsa Reno, you're immersing yourself into Reno's largest salsa dance scene. In Salsa Reno’s salsa training program there are 5 levels of salsa classes, specialty classes, Casino Rueda and performance opportunities. Dancers also have the opportunity to dance salsa a various locales in and around Reno to help bring what you learn in the studio out into the "real world" of salsa.

Originally from Los Angeles, BB of Salsa Reno has been dancing Salsa for over 10 years and teaching since 2002. He regularly studies salsa with top salsa dance instructors from around the world. His current salsa teachers are John and Liz of Salsamania in Oakland, CA, ranked sixth in the world and he is endorsed to teach Bachata by Rodney “Rodchata” Aquino, the most respected Bachata instructor in the Bay area. BB of Salsa Reno teaches at Reno Dance Sensation and he is the host and resident instructor for Latin Thursdays at the Pearl Champagne Lounge in Grand Sierra Resort. With over 120 active students currently enrolled in weekly salsa lessons in the Reno area, he feels confident you’re learning a dance with a strong following that’s embraced by anyone that has heard about this exotic blend of Afro-Cuban-Caribbean music that is globally recognized as “Salsa.”
