French and Pickering Creek’s Conservation & Trust Homegrown Harvest Supper and Hoedown at 4pm (Rain date Aug. 1) Thanks to the generosity of board director Jim Moore and his wife, Joan, this year's event will be held at Marshlands Conference Center in Elverson, a truly beautiful conserved portion of the Great Marsh.

At 4 PM, we will be offering some special family "Early Bird" activities that you won't want to miss. These include a guided nature walk (bring your binoculars--this an Audubon Important Bird Area); pond fishing for kids (bring your own gear) and stream canoeing (canoes provided). Early bird admission is $10 per adult, $5 for kids 12 and under. Dinner service will begin at 5:30 and will feature the region's bounty. Local food producers will be on hand to promote their fresh and delicious products. Dave Weber and Ted the Fiddler will be performing throughout the event and will accompany our square dancers after dinner. In addition, guests may tour the historic stone farmhouse being renovated on the property. Kids' relays and two raffles will round out the evening. Our menu will feature foods grown as close to home as possible, including local cheeses from several artisan cheesemakers; Becca's delicious tomato-mozzarella napoleons; a special offering from Henry's Cafe in Pottstown; Eden Valley Farm burgers; Spera's roast pig; grilled pork and lamb sausages, corn on the cob and new potatoes; salads, soups, and breads. Dessert will showcase the wonderful fruits of summer in pies, cakes, and salads. For more information, visit:
