Join us Saturday July 2nd for our second annual Holiday of History at Moravian Book Shop! To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the start of the war, this year the focus will be on The Civil War. We'll be hosting a book signing, special holiday presentations, and again have American artifacts on display. Some of the events taking place are as follows:

All weekend: American Artifacts -- Visit our American heirlooms display throughout the weekend.

1pm to 3pm: Lost Rights Book Signing -- Bicycling magazine executive editor Dave Howard returns to the Book Shop to sign copies of the newly-released paperback version of his debut book, Lost Rights: The Misadventures of a Stolen American Relic. The Emmaus author's book covers the true journey of one of 14 original copies of the Bill of Rights, from its theft by a Civil War soldier in 1865, through shady dealings at elite auction houses, a government sting, and its eventual recovery and return to North Carolina.

Copies of the book can be ordered from our event web site. If you'd like your book signed or personalized, please indicate that in the Notes field of the order form. (Personalized copies must be pre-paid.)

3pm to 4pm: Civil War Stories -- Join Civil War Round Table member Warren Beach as he shares stories of his Great Great Grandfather's experiences during the Civil War. Currently in the works for a novel, Beach's tales come directly from his ancestor's journal, detailing the average soldier's daily life.
