Holiday in the Park Candlelight Tours December 11, 2009

Luminaria candles will be out in the Plaza and visitors will be able to enjoy the many historic characters dressed in wonderfully authentic 1800s period attire, as they bring back to life the furnished rooms in the 1830s La Casa de Estudillo and the La Casa de Machado y Silvas. All the State Historic Park stores and restaurants, represented by the Old Town Park Merchants Association, will be open and richly festooned with holiday decorations, treats, and activities these two nights, for extended shopping hours. Historical traditions and the romance of early San Diego will be recreated in this historic seasonal festival. See the beautiful candle dance performed by Los Bailadores. Reservations for the candlelit tours can be made in advance by calling the Park Visitor Center. Tours will be conducted approx. every 20 minutes, followed by refreshments.
