Hidden Melodies Revealed--a celebration of Rosh Hashanah

As acclaimed in the Village Voice, "Lockwood's arrangements of Jewish cantorial songs whip up a frenzy wherein all the world's music can do that which music does best: celebrate."

A veritable super-group of New York musicians, featuring members of Antibalas, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Balkan Beat Box and Arcade Fire, Jeremiah Lockwood's band, The Sway Machinery is proud to unleash their cross-cultural music project, Hidden Melodies.

Through the revival and re-energizing of Ashkenazic Cantorial music, the prayerful melodies sung in synagogues, the music of the Sway Machinery focuses on the rediscovery of self in history and myth. The project debuts on Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish new year, in a multi-media presentation of music, animation and story-telling.

To add to the festivities, we are happy to inform the public that there will be an open bar from 9:45 until 11PM on the night of the performance, courtesy of the Moet Hennesy Company. The bar will be offering Ardbeg "the Ultimate Single Islay Malt Scotch Whiskey" and Greenpoint Chardonnay and Cabernet Shiraz from Australia. Greenpoint, founded by Moet and Chandon, is a high quality cool climate wine that is committed to ecologically friendly wine making practices.
