On the evening of Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, the Breast Cancer Fund will mark our 20th anniversary at our annual Heroes Celebration. We will commemorate two decades of groundbreaking work for breast cancer prevention, and we will honor our Heroes who helped lead the way. An inspiring program will be followed by an organic buffet reception and green marketplace.

Founded in 1992, the Breast Cancer Fund works to connect the dots between breast cancer and exposures to chemicals and radiation in our everyday environments. We translate the growing body of scientific evidence linking breast cancer and environmental exposures into public education, legislative and market campaigns that protect our health and reduce breast cancer risk. The Breast Cancer Fund is the only national organizational focused exclusively on identifying and eliminating the environmental links to breast cancer.

Over these 20 years, we have honored as Heroes more than 50 scientists, healthcare providers, policy makers, community activists and business leaders who have worked alongside the Breast Cancer Fund to fulfill our prevention mission. Many of these past Heroes will be in attendance on May 15, and we will present the Science Leadership Award to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and its Director Dr. Linda Birnbaum for their paradigm-shifting research on breast cancer and the environment.

Please consider showing your support for the Breast Cancer Fund as we celebrate our powerful past and shape our bold future, we hope that you will be by our side.
