The Heritage Orchestra
+ DJ Yoda
+ Plaid
+ O Duo

THURSDAY 26TH JULY
SCALA, Kings Cross, London, 8pm

The Heritage Orchestra fearlessly dive-bomb into whatever musical ball pit they can find, so when the opportunity came from Gabriel Prokofiev (Spektrum) to perform his Concerto for Turntables and Orchestra with vinyl trickster DJ Yoda - they said yes. And when the chance came to slam the formidable sounds of Plaid (Warp Records) into the programme - they said yes yes! But be under no illusion, DJ Yoda will not be slapping out his trademark brand of humorous hip hop, and Plaid will not be alone. Instead, under the baton of crowd-shouter Jules Buckley, the first half will see Yoda behind the decks scratching notated written music with the orchestra, and the second half will feature Plaid manipulating and being realised by a a twenty piece string section, rhythm section, full brass and winds, and the crazed marimba acrobats 'O Duo'. Seemingly disparate elements of hip hop, electronica, and contemporary classical will be thrown into the cauldron for a gut-full of orchestral witchery that will linger for days.
