This N.Y.C. based blues collective are emerging as one of the most exciting acts on the US scene. Their rollicking, horn-enhanced, multi-layered sound and spicy New Orleans strains are an inspiring testament to the enduring power and boundless beauty of African-American music. They draw on field hollers and work songs, covers of the immortal Muddy Waters, Son House and Leadbelly, as well as their own original tunes.

From the riveting Chaney Sims and her father Bill’s a cappella work songs to Junior Mack’s heaven-sent voice and searing slide guitar, you’ll recognize this group as something breathtakingly new even as old African-American musical traditions permeate everything. What at first seems simply a loving celebration of the past emerges as a whole new adventure in music.
