Asbury Park, NJ, a seaside resort relic, is one hour south of NYC.
It is easily accessible by car via the Garden State Parkway and NJ
Public Transit. The Asbury Lanes, public beach and the famous
boardwalk are all within close walking distance of the train.


The Asbury Lanes is a beautifully maintained Bowling Alley that has
been open since 1961. It offers $10 all you can bowl, food and full
bar service for this all-ages show (kids under ten free with an
adult). The event is Sponsored By Kate's Foundation for Melanoma
Awareness and Research.


Kate's Foundation is a not-for-profit Monmouth County organization
dedicated to educating people on the dangers of Melanoma. Melanoma
is a deadly skin cancer caused by exposure to the sun's powerful UV
rays and the more powerful reflective UVB rays from the Earth's
surface. Kate's Foundation was started 8 years ago by Katie Verdon
Spisak prior to her ultimate demise from this incurable cancer at
33 years of age.


Anyone can get Melanoma at any age. The more sun exposure one
receives in his or her lifetime, the more likely one could get
Melanoma. Melanoma is a cancer of young adults. It is the fifth
most deadly cancer in men ages 18 to 25 and sixth most deadly
cancer in woman of the same age group. But there is good news.
Melanoma is 100% curable in its earliest stages. Early detection,
good sun protection habits and a visit to your friendly
dermatologist once a year are key in winning the fight against this
silent killer.
