Health Fair July 18, 2009

Free blood pressure checks, cholesterol tests, blood glucose tests, health information, and tips on healthy eating and active lifestyles will be offered at the Health Fair Pavilion of Union City's 50th Anniversary Gathering in the Park.

Services will be hosted by volunteers and community partners from Kaiser Permanente, Washington Hospital, Sahaita Inc., St. Rose Hospital, the American College of Nurses, the Black Nurses Association, and many others.

Presentations on several health topics will be provided throughout the day by Kaiser Permanente physicians and staff. Additional booths will provide chair massages and chiropractic screenings, coupons for free dental exams, information about elder care programs, and image enhancement techniques for cancer patients.

Get a body fat analysis, create a workout program, and learn about the benefits of good nutrition.

Kids will experience the fun of exercise at the Kaiser Permanente track, which includes a super-duper bounce house.

Languages spoken will include Spanish, Tagalog, Punjabi and Hindi.

The Health Fair is one of several activities occuring at The Gathering in the Park. Emceed by popular comedian Mark Pitta, entertainment will range from hot Latin and cool blues bands to Polynesian and Indian dancers. Enjoy delicious and diverse cuisines from across the globe. The city's annual Kid's Carnival will have 30 midway games. Don't miss the international marketplace and information booths.
