Join The People's Poet, Six-Time Author and Computer Scientist Dr. Melody Ivory for a special workshop for women of color who have survived traumatic experiences. Dr. Ivory will take 30 women on a poetry healing journey within the historic Good Shepherd Center Chapel. Her goal is to create a life-altering experience that leaves participants empowered, inspired and liberated from any lingering trauma, unresolved emotions and beliefs. Using her proven performance poetry techniques, participants will be able to express and heal themselves as they share their stories in a safe and supportive environment. Yoga is facilitated by Deborah "Dee" Williams (Kanjin Yoga Center) throughout the workshop to help participants relax and stay centered.

Signup today to be one of the 30 women in this powerful workshop!

Have you been through an experience that rocked you to your core or left you feeling shattered in some way? Is this experience still affecting you today, perhaps interfering with your confidence, self-worth or success?

The workshop is composed of a series of activities including: writing and memorization exercises, performing with your whole self (voice, body and emotions), improvisational skills, small group discussion and hands-on experience with performing. You will elevate your public speaking skills, improve your memory and tap into your creativity in ways that can benefit you in your personal life and career.

Bring your lunch and refreshments, dress in comfortable loose clothing and shoes and, most importantly, be open to stepping into a new you!

This Dr. Melody Ivory Experience(TM) is funded by the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs.
