The Harvard Club of San Francisco will host a presentation and networking program on nuclear power and small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in Palo Alto on January 21, 2010. This is the fourth installment in the Harvard Club's Cleantech Thought Leader Series. The community is cordially invited to meet leading nuclear entrepreneurs and investors commercializing the next generation of nuclear power.

Eric Wesoff of Greentech Media will present his forthcoming report on small modular reactor technology and will moderate a discussion with industry leaders.

Confirmed panelists:

* Dr. Paul Lorenzini - Co-Founder & CEO of NuScale Power, an Oregon-based startup aiming to commercialize "small" 45 megawatt multi-application nuclear reactors.

* Michael Shepherd - VP Business Development - B&W Modular Nuclear Energy, LLC, The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W). B&W provides technical and management services to power industries and makes the B&W mPowerTM, a scalable, modular 125-750 MWe reactor.

* Maurice Gunderson - Venture capitalist with CMEA Capital and Senior Partner in the firm's Energy & Materials group. Maurice co-founded Nth Power, one of the country's first VC firms devoted to energy technology.

* Jeff Hamel - Senior Project Manager in the Advanced Nuclear Technology Program at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) where he overseas research on nuclear development and deployment and support for spent fuel management.
