Hard Rain: Our Headlong Collision with Nature
Speakers:
Mark Edwards: photographer & ecological campaigner
Brother Clark Berge: head of the worldwide Society of St Francis & a chaplain at the Copenhagen Summit in December
Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP: Sec of State for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs

Climate change is now a familiar concept, but its immediate and long-term impacts and what to do about them are often poorly understood. Photographer, author and environmental campaigner Mark Edwards' startlingly original presentation explores the issues illustrated in the Hard Rain exhibition, which is on display in St Martin-in-the-Fields courtyard on the run-up to the Copenhagen climate conference. A moving and unforgettable exploration of the state of our planet at this critical time, Hard Rain shows that the world has little chance to solve any one of our problems unless we tackle all of them together.

Brother Clark Berge, the Minister General of the worldwide Society of St Francis and a Chaplain at the Copenhagen summit, examines how the faith community is responding to the ecological crisis and highlights the choices that have become fundamental to our future lives. The presentation is followed by questions and discussion.

Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP will speak and answer questions about the government's response to climate change and what they hope will be achieved in Copenhagen

Part of Autumn Education Programme "INSPIRING COMMUNITY". All events are free but there wil be a retiring collection to help finance the series
