Harbor View Lawn Restoration September 29, 2012

This is the biggest volunteer event of the season. Help keep Harbor View Lawn on Pier 1 lush and healthy by removing invasive turfgrass weeds. Harbor View Lawn features some of the best views in all of NYC and hosts thousands of visitors throughout the year; its enormous popularity means it requires some extra hands-on care. Volunteer contribution is vital to the health of the park and is an essential component of its organic lawn maintenance. As a special thank you to volunteers, the first 15 RSVPs to this event will be treated to a special 'Birds, Bugs, & Bees' tour. This guided tour will be led by Matthew Wills, a local naturalist with extensive knowledge of Pier 1's beautifully designed ecosystems and the diverse wildlife they support.
