Hallowe'en with Dave McKean October 31, 2008

While best known for his artwork, Dave McKean is also a photographer, comic book artist, graphic designer, film-maker and jazz musician. Upon meeting Neil Gaiman in New York in 1986, he released his first graphic novel Childhood Memories, and then Black Orchid in 1988. Dave has illustrated album covers for the world’s top listed bands, published books of photography and he directed MirrorMask, his first full length feature film, in 2004.

Dave will be signing The Graveyard Book, a homage to The Jungle Book in which a boy’s parents are killed and he’s raised by the occupants of a graveyard. Written by Neil Gaiman and mentioned in the introduction to Fragile Things, the book has been lavishly illustrated by Dave. Dave will also be signing books of his own artwork including Squink that gathers a number of his drawings in 15 chapters.
