Dalai Lama to speak at NSU. Discuss' "The Effect of Compassion on the Global Community." That talk is set for 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at NSU's Don Taft University Center in Davie.
This will be his third visit to South Florida. He spoke at Florida International University, Miami, in 1999 and in 2004. The latter visit lasted five days, including talks at FIU, Nova Southeastern University, the Office Depot Center (Now the BankAtlantic Center) and the University of Miami.
Besides the public meetings, the Buddhist leader will address students and faculty of NSU and Broward College on Feb. 23 on "Universal Responsibility."
FAU will also host a series of events before the Feb. 24 visit during "Expressions of Peace Week," starting Feb. 17. Events will include lectures, films and a "Dance for Peace."
Tickets for the NSU lecture on Feb. 23 are available through 954-262-5553 or Ticketmaster.com. Prices will be set in the next day or so, a university spokesperson said.
Tickets for the Feb. 24 FAU lecture will go on sale starting Tuesday, Jan. 19, at $75 for floor seats, $49 for bleacher seats. Purchasers can pick up the tickets via mail or the Will Call window on the day of the event.

Got my ticket for at Nova Arena Box Office yesterday. Tickets are $15 + $2 box charge 954-262-5553 Only balcony seats available; no floor seats. You must get your ticket in person (Areana Box office will not take order over phone) or buy from ticketmaster for a $5 service charge. FAU sold out early.

In this building is a reasonable place to eat. Several ideas from burgers, chinese, subway, & more. There is a wonderful large salt water tank to enjoy. Going to be there early! Photos shown Page 12 is where to eat, and Page 13 is about the fish tank.
