Abergavenny
Abergavenny, Wales

We are holding the event in Abergavenny, a market town in the north of the county, on a Saturday when the market is operating, and we expect a large audience throughout the day.

We are involving schools in the area to join with us and to show their skills as musicians and dancers etc. military units, including, if possible, the Ghurkhas, all youth organisations, and veterans of all ages. We have invited the following to attend the day, with marquees supplied by the County Council: Veteran's Agency, SSAFA Forces Help, Gwent Association of Voluntary Services, and as many serving and ex service association as possible.

We are planning displays of the skills of serving soldiers as well as veterans to bring to the attention of the public the range of expertise that the services acquire.

We are having a presentation of Veteran's Badges in the course of the March through the town, and are inviting the Lord Lieutenant of Gwent to present them; the High Sheriff of Monmouthshire is also invited.

Veterans will be talking to children about their experiences in the Forces, and also to the public at large.

The day will end with a concert in a school theatre performed by volunteers.
