Hungarian-born guitarists Peter and Zoltan Katona will perform an exciting program featuring a variety of works by a number of both legendary and modern artists, in an evening co-presented by San Francisco Performances and the OMNI Foundation for the Performing Arts.

The program will feature Mozart's "Overture to La Clemenza di Tito," Vivaldi's Trio in G minor, RV 85," Hector Villa-Lobos' "Alma Brasileira," Astor Piazzolla's "Tango Suite," Derek Charke's "Time's Passing Breath," Paco de Lucia's "Cepa Andaluza," Scarlatti's "Three Sonatas," and Rossini's "Overture to Il barbiere di Siviglia."

Currently SFP's Guitarists-in-Residence, the Katonas are twin brothers who have performed in many of the world's top concert halls and won numerous prizes, both individually and together. In 2004 they were awarded the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Prize, becoming the first guitarists to win that honor. In 1998 they won the Concert Artists Guild Competition held in New York; tours soon followed, as did their Carnegie Hall debut. In 1997 they were winners at the Young Concert Artist Trust auditions in London.

From the age of ten the twins have studied both individually and as a guitar duo in Budapest, Frankfurt and at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
