Guided Tour by Art Historian, Hema Singh. 'Somewhat Different - Contemporary Design and the Power of Convention' which is prepared by the Institute fur Auslands beziehungen e.V. (ifa) and the German curator and designer Prof. Volker Albus. The exhibition differs - as the title says - from typical design exhibitions: It is not dedicated, as usual, to the function of design objects and their corresponding shapes, but rather concentrates on divergences from the design standards set by habit and convention. The great diversity of designs is illustrated by 106 different items and a total of 148 objects by 67 individual designers and studios, 47 of them based in Germany and 20 in other European countries.
