Growing Food, Not Grass May 20, 2010

Discover in detail how to convert a resource-consuming lawn into a bountiful and productive edible landscape that will use approximately 1/8 of the water. This class will cover realistic and practical approaches to urban food production. During the field trip, visit a local converted lawn for hands-on activities. Tour the farm, harvest the produce, prepare food, watch a cooking demonstration and enjoy a light lunch from the freshly picked vegetables. Take home handouts, resources, and heirloom seeds. Class includes a field trip on Saturday May 22 from 11 am to 1 pm.
