Greyhound Friends to Host Its Annual Open House and Reunion September 30 & October 1, 2006
Hopkinton, MA September 20, 2006 – Greyhound Friends annual Open House and Reunion will prove to be more than just an ordinary pet adoption awareness event. Held on the kennel grounds at 167 Saddle Hill Road, Hopkinton September 30 & October 1, owners of greyhounds young and old are encouraged to come down to this event with their beloved canines to have them spoiled on location. From 12pm-5pm, activities have been planned for both days including pet pampering events such as Dog Massage, Pet Photography and the Not Quite Westminster Dog Show.
Four tracks will soon be closing for the season, making this a busy time for Greyhound Friends in finding placements for retired dogs. This is the perfect chance for potential dog owners thinking about greyhound adoption to come visit dogs in of need loving homes. The Open House will have food available, raffles, a silent auction, and of course, merchandise for the four-legged companion.
The schedule of events for the Fall Open House is as follows:
Saturday, September 30, 2006
• Dog Massage – Lynn Flanagan – 12:00-5:00
• Pet Photography – Jay Groccia – 12:00-5:00
• “Ask the Vet” – Dr. Lynne O’Neill – 1:30-2:30
• The Not Quite Westminster Dog Show – 2:30-3:00
Sunday, October 1, 2006
• Nail Clipping – Michael McCann – 12:00-5:00
• Pet Photography – Jay Groccia – 12:00-5:00
• The Not Quite Westminster Dog Show – 2:00-2:30

Dog owners will be able to take their dogs into a volunteer staffed fenced field where greyhounds can be found frolicking and making new friends in what is to be one big doggie play date. Vendors will include Classic Hound, Greyhound Friends Homeward Bound Hound Boutique, and Gallery 55-an art gallery featuring an exhibit of greyhound paintings.
