Great Northwest Music Tour Featuring Jackstraw May 14, 2005

Every month the Great Northwest Music Tour blazes another musical trail, bringing a broad scope of talent to its widespread collection of hotels. There is no admission charge to the festivities, and unique lodging packages offer food, surprise gifts and a cozy place to bed down after the last note is played. This month we're proud to host the uptempo boot-kickin' bluegrass of Jackstraw, who on this tour celebrates the release of not one, but two CDs. With great songwriting, solid vocals and chops that are both ferocious and controlled, these four musicians have set the standard for Portland's back-to-the-roots bluegrass scene. Don't expect a laid-back singalong, though: Jackstraw rips out high-energy jams that test the staying power of their rambunctious fans on the dance floor.
