Grassroots Voter Registration Drive September 26, 2008

Where: Denver, Colorado What: Grassroots Voter Registration Drive When: September 26-28th Plan: Voter Registration Deadline for Colorado is October 6th. What I want to do is have a number of volunteers spread out in strategic areas around the city's downtown and large suburban areas. We would have voter registration forms, but also, what would make this perhaps more unique, is I would also want laptops with wireless broadband connected to http://www.canivote.org/ and we would also invite people to check and make sure they are all set to vote in November. I also want to be able to instantly provide them with where they will need to go to vote (exact address of their polling station), and remind them of the early voting that this state has. All of this to ensure that we get as many people out to vote as possible, even for those already registered - we hope to still have an impact. Any ideas on making this event more effective or better are more than appreciated: this truly will be a grassroots event. I am coming from Texas to help out and will try and get some other volunteers as well, but if you are in the Denver area (or any area in CO) please, donate a weekend of your time: it will help drastically to actually bring out the vote in Denver. Colorado might very well be one of the main deciding factors in this year's election, and Denver is a large area of democratic support and is the reason I'm traveling so far.
