Grand Derangement March 31, 2009

From the shores of Nova Scotia, the seven musicians and step dancers comprising Grand Derangement all hail from the St. Mary's Bay region. Named after the French phrase for the Acadian expulsion, Grand Derangement also refers to the absolute frenzy this band can drive an audience to with its energetic and infectious music. Cajun and Irish rhythms are fused with traditional Acadian music, rock and jazz to create a unique sound. The band is beloved in the world of French-language music for its celebration of a proud culture that continues to thrive in the face of daunting odds.
