Manhattan, NY ? March 6, 2006? Gotham Girls Roller Derby (GGRD) Presents the 2nd Annual Derby Taunt Ball on Sunday March 26th at the Delancey (168 Delancey at Clinton) at 7pm. The 2006 Roller Derby Season starts April 7th, but they have too much going on to wait that long for a party. GGRD is adding a batch of 30 new girls (aka ?Fresh Meat?) that are ready to be christened with their official derby names and everyone is all punchy with excitement to find out the 2006 team assignments to be announced that evening.

Will the Meat go to the saucy Brooklyn Bombshells in sailor-ette stripes, the hardcore Manhattan Mayhem in inmate orange, the dominating Queens of Pain (2005 Season Champs), or will they find a parking spot the newest team - the Bronx Gridlock in yellow and black taxi cab checkers? To help you place your bets there will be team-themed drink specials including 8-9PM: Bronx Gridlock Greyhounds ($4), 9-10PM: Manhattan Mayhem Screwdrivers ($5), 10-11PM: Queens of Pain Whiskey and Coke ($5), 11-12PM: Brooklyn Bombshells Whiskey Shot and Beer ($5) and there will be $3 Millers all night for the undecided.

In honor of our different USDA grades of Fresh Meat, it?s a Black, White and Red ball - so wear your most festive and fluffiest black prom dress, don that stupid white tux your brother made you buy for his wedding and break out the big red hair. DJ's Ian Aruba and Jared Preston will be spinning all 80's music all night to take your mind off why you didn?t go to your prom in the first place.

The Delancey is located at 168 Delancey Street at Clinton (212-254-9920). The bash will start at 7pm - a $5 cover will get you in on the action.
