GOOD MAGAZINE ARRIVES IN DC TO CELEBRATE 1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF LIVING WELL BY DOING GOOD
“Choose GOOD” party to take place on Friday, September 7, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden

Los Angeles, August 23, 2007 – GOOD, the magazine for people who “give a damn,” will bring its popular Choose GOOD party to Washington, DC’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden on September 7, 2007 from 7 p.m. to midnight. This DC event will mark the first party in the series of events celebrating the publication’s 1-year anniversary.

Twelve hundred Choose GOOD subscribers are expected to attend the party, which will feature music, art, and festivities including DJ sets by Thievery Corporation’s Eric Hilton, Dave Nada, Will Eastman and Jacques Renault. Additionally, the audiovisual artist group sosolimited will be showing a custom video presentation on-site.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting a 1-year anniversary Choose GOOD event in a city with such a heritage of social action and political engagement,” said Ben Goldhirsh, GOOD’s owner and founder. “Washington’s diverse population of passionate and involved citizens perfectly reflects the GOOD sensibility. We are excited to continue growing and fostering the GOOD community in DC.”

The Choose GOOD party model requires that all attendees be GOOD magazine subscribers though the Choose GOOD campaign. As part of GOOD’s innovative subscription strategy, all subscriber revenue will be donated to the charity organization of the subscriber’s choice, which they can select from the list of GOOD’s 12 charity partners.

Choose GOOD partners currently include Ashoka, Teach for America, Creative Commons, Donors Choose, WITNESS, Oceana, World Wildlife Fund, Millennium Promise, UNICEF, Room to Read, Generation Engage, and City Year. To date, the Choose GOOD campaign has raised more than $400,000 for charity.

GOOD, in conjunction with the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, is proud to be hosting its DC event with a stable of highly respected sponsors. Sponsors for the DC Choose GOOD anniversary party include Hope Equity, Virgin RE*Generation, Sapporo, Silk Soymilk, Christiania, and Izze Beverage Company.
