Interactive Replica of the Good Housekeeping Research Institute Illustrates How Products are Tested for the Magazine and the Good Housekeeping Seal
Kids of all ages - and their parents - will have the opportunity to check out the toys that will be on everyone's holiday list this year, as Good Housekeeping features its 2009 Best Toy Award winners at the Good Housekeeping Research Institute (GHRI) on Tour presented by IKEA, an interactive exhibit of the testing facility, in Central Park across from Rosa Mexicana at Atlantic Station.

Good Housekeeping’s 2009 Best Toy Award winners were evaluated by the Good Housekeeping Research Institute for safety and reliability, and were then turned over to more than 50 kids who tested their “fun factor”. The highest-scoring toys were picked for the three age groups: 3-5 years, 6-7 years, and 8 years and up, and will be on hand at the exhibit for more kid testing.

GHRI on Tour presented by IKEA is a traveling exhibit that celebrated the 100th birthday of the Good Housekeeping Seal, the legendary emblem of the magazine’s promise of quality and a limited product warranty, and the 125th anniversary of the magazine. Visitors can also enter to win a $2,500 IKEA room makeover.

The exhibit also includes areas devoted to the magazine’s environmental initiatives, its VIP (Very Innovative Product) Awards; a timeline with GHRI highlights, from landmark evaluations to important recalls; touch screen televisions with trivia games and videos of sample product evaluations.
