Each October San Franciscans have an opportunity to visit artists' studios throughout the city. With a mind-boggling array of artists to choose from some people find it confusing to try to pick which artist or group of artists to visit in the limited time available. SOMA Artists Studios are offering compelling reasons to spend your time with us on Weekend 2 of Artspan's annual event, October 16-17, 2010. Not only were we selected "Best of the Bay" Best Artists Collective this year, but there are 38 artists participating, all under one roof, in an easy-to-park area of the City.

Need other reasons to make the choice? Established in 1989, SOMA Artists Studios include artists who are both established and emerging in their chosen fields. We are multi-national, multi-generational, and multi-cultural, bringing an interesting juxtaposition of art from diverse perspectives. There is a huge variety of work, including painting, glass, wood, installation, ceramics, digital arts, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, and assemblage. Several members have won national and international awards and been awarded residencies in prestigious artists' communities both here and abroad. They have also received recognition by way of juried exhibitions, and publications in the Bay Area, U.S.A. and internationally. And last but certainly not least, there are a variety of price points for collectors as well as those who are just looking to decorate a wall.
