WHY: To empower and inspire our audience by offering them helpful tips in producing their own podcast so they too can share and talk about their interests...whatever they "go geek" about.

    The first part: "Geek Out!: a Podcasting How-To"

    The girls will walk through the basics of producing a well-rounded, well-produced podcast.  In this part of the Academy the girls will hand out tips and share their workflow for shooting a video podcast...as they actually     shoot a GGG vidcast.  The presentation will essentially consist of 6 parts (3 hr.s):
◦ interview tips (Asiana the journalist)
▪ Asiana give her tips for a conducting a good interview (common missteps, things to thing about)
▪ Conducts a live interview with Leo Laporte
▪ ask talk to Leo about the world of podcasting, what it takes to be a good host (he's launched several women's careers), etc.
◦ necessary equipment: camera, microphones, software, etc. (Liana the techie)
◦ development: treatment and scripting (Staci), coming up with concept: a unique perspective (Heather), developing a production plan (Maria)
◦ production: setting up the shot, checking for sound, etc. (Maria, Staci, Heather - the filmmakers)
◦ post-production: (tips for Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Imovie, Garage Band): editing and exporting (Maria, Staci, Heather)
◦ making a presence (getting the word out about your podcast via the internet): social networking, blogging tips, etc.

    Each of the 6 segments will be followed by time for answering questions.

    The second part: "I'm a Geek, You're a Geek, We're all a bunch of Girl Geeks"

    A panel of girl geeks (GGG cast, other famous podcasting women (tentative confirming our panel of geek girls) talk and field questions from the audience
