In addition to a Japanese American food court, the 2-day Bazaar features an array of culture, performing arts, educational, spiritual and recreational activities. Bingo for all generations and a variety of Children's Games. A delightful Silent Auction with fine jewelry and art; and a Boutique with hand-made craft items. Enjoy a quiet moment viewing the ikebana , origami or participating in the tea ceremony. Browse the BCA Bookstore and the AACP Bookstore. Raffle drawing for a chance to win a handmade art quilt, and more! The public is encouraged to participate in the Bon Odori, or Bon Dance, a highlight of the weekend, on Sunday, 1-3pm. All are invited to join the kimono-clad dancers! Special this year: Live music and dance performances! The eclectic NYC-based Okinawan "O-pop,"ultra-minyo," ensemble, happyfunsmile, will kick-off their West Coast Obon tour. Plus, the Bay Area's own Okinawa Kenjin Kai musicians and dancers will perform their vibrant and soulful repertoire of traditional song and dance. The performances will be on Saturday between 12:30 to 4pm; and on Sunday during the Bon Dance, 1-3 pm.

*happyfunsmile performs an original blend of Okinawan pop, electric folk songs, super sweet ballads, festival rhythms, and obon beats utilizing the sounds of the chindon, sanshin, accordion, saxophone, bass, percussion, and keys.

*Okinawa Kenjin-of San Francisco is an association of Okinawans and persons involved in Okinawan cultural and community events. The Kenjinkai musicians and dancers perform annually at numerous community and cultural events.
