Get Started on Your First Podcast or (free) Live Show! August 23, 2007

Did you know that within a couple of hours you could have your very own podcast or call in radio show? In fact, one internet radio site/service will *pay you* for the number of live listeners and downloads your show generates. Cool huh? (Of course the quality and listenership of your show will increase in proportion to the amount of time you put into it, but you can get a basic show up and going in relatively little time using free software. There's even a free 'phone-to-podcast' service that automates everything for you, no computer needed!)

Podcasting is one of the most hot topics on the internet right now. The power of sharing your voice, your ideas, your passion, your business is no longer only within the hands of the media conglomerates. As Time magazine said last year (primarily because of the new media blitz) "You" win the 'person of the year' award.

Join us for a two hour workshop that will cover the following basic topics related to starting your own podcast or live internet radio call-in show:

* How to edit/produce your show (basics)

Class structure


Structure of the class will evolve as I find out the specific needs from those who sign up, but its destined to be a power-packed 2 hours. I'll cover the essentials, leave plenty of time for Q&A, and then if we have time, we will even go through a live demonstration of recording and publish a show together.

Who are you Leif?

I've been podcasting for over three years. I started with the Bleeding Purple Podcast, which morphed into Wonderosity (which has been neglected of late because of my new business, but is about to take on a whole new life of its own.) I've also experimented with The QuestCast, and other live talk show based concepts (talkshoe, skypecasting, etc.)
In addition, I've been a part of the Seattle Podcast Meetup for two years, and attended the '06 national podcast expo, which have allowed me to meet many great people and learn all the latest podcast tricks. Most my energy is currently going to my new business (see my profile), but I still love podcasting and hope to get back into it as soon as time permits!
