On 7 May join us for an ethical entrepreneur special looking at fashion with the Indian Influence!

We’ll be hearing from two ethical fashion entrepreneurs who have turned their passion for fashion to work to in India!

Our guests will be Ben Ramsden, CEO of Pants to Poverty and young fashion entrepreneur Kate Tailyour.

Ben launched underwear brand, Pants to Poverty in 2005 off the back of the ‘Make Poverty History’ Youth Movement, which sold 11 thousand pairs of pants in just 5 months. After travelling the world and working with Amnesty International, Ben soon realized the valuable and significant role that the fashion and cotton industry can have in linking the world’s richest people to its very poorest, and how it can be used to transform the relationship between the two.

Pants To Poverty are now establishing the world’s first farmer owned cotton trading/Marketing company in the UK, based in Hyderbad, India.

Kate Tailyour’s unique approach to design is just one of the many reasons this young British designer is tipped as one of Britain’s hot new talents. Her Spring Summer 09 collection has already gained her recognition with the British Council, shortlisting her for the first ever UK Young Fashion Entrepreneur Award.

Kate recently returned from a tour of India’s fashion industry to gain an insight into one of the worlds fast developing and most dynamic economies, and will be talking about these experiences on the night.
