Gang/Drug Awareness Prevention & Recognition Forum March 26, 2009

The Lumberton Police Department is hosting the event in hopes that area parents, grandparents, educators, caregivers and basically anyone else 18 years old and over will attend the fuction to learn the warning signs associated with gang membership and drug usage. Those in attendance will also view photos of local gang related activities and learn how to assist the police with the problems associated with gangs and drugs in our community.

I attended a gang awareness workshop in Hoke county recently. It was very informative and I encourage everyone to attend. In Laurinburg there has been a threat of a gang initiation at Wal-mart in which woman would be shot. Please be aware that gangs are a threat to everyone.

I may go to this. I hope they have a lot of pictures and videos to illustrate gang related issues within the community. Also I hope that its tailored to the Lumberton area, the last one I went to had a bunch of stuff about other cities. I want to know what's going on in my town.
